A new character has been born, and with its birth, it is taking the lives of young people across the world. “Momo” is a terrifying doll-like character that has been used in the popular “suicide games” spreading across the internet. And as people begin to see more images of Momo across the internet as social media users participate in the horrible games in droves, the hideous creature has been named the “Slenderman of 2018.”

If you see someone spending time with Momo, then you should fear for their safety. Images of the creature have gone viral as it started to encourage kids on the messaging app WhatsApp to commit violent acts and dares. The suicide game culminates in the ultimate act of violence as it urges children to kill themselves.

The suicide challenge started when the terrifying sculpture started circulating online. Momo has large round eyes that pop out of her face. Her mouth is a long scowl, and her hair is dark, long and stringy. Mom was copied from a doll creation made by Midori Hayashi.

Midori is famous for making dolls that are horrifying. And his work has been featured in a gallery in Tokyo, Japan. He wants his dolls to have lifelike eyes. That is his main goal as a creator. And his Momo doll certainly has eyes that are worthy of any horror movie.

Although the creature the doll, Midori has no link to the horrible game circulating the internet. It may use Momo’s face to hypnotize young children into suicide, but it is not Midori’s doing.

The game targets young, troubled people in the United States, Argentina, Mexico, France, Germany and more. And it has been linked to the death of a 12-year-old girl living in Escobar, Argentina.

She died because she was involved with the Momo challenge. The preteen girl posted videos of herself completing each step of the challenge before “winning” with the completion of her suicide.

Besides Momo’s link to the suicide game, her image has been shared to various online forums. She has become somewhat of a cult personality and was voted the Slenderman of 2018.

Anyone who has participated in Momo’s suicide game said they were bombarded with threatening messages. And they were left feeling weak and vulnerable. They would even receive phone calls in some cases. And they were even told Momo would appear in the flesh if they did not complete the challenge.

The Slenderman challenge launched a few years ago and resulted in multiple stabbings. The figure was part of a 2009 art contest. The so-called Slenderman has long arms and legs and a blank face. And as the image began to circulate online, children were told creepy and terrifying back stories about the monster. That’s what is happening with Momo now.
